I am pleased to present to you a proposal for a documentary film titled “Women on the Margins of Power: Yemen and Switzerland”. This film sheds light on women’s participation in power in Yemen, focusing on their marginalization by religious groups and political parties. The film draws a comparison between the current situation of women in Yemen and the situation of women in Switzerland before and after their participation in politics.

نبذة عني about me

As a guest writer in Bern, Switzerland, he is a specialist in cultural development with extensive experience in culture and media in Arab and international channels. He has contributed to joint literary publications, including the book by the Swiss German PEN Center “One Way Ticket. Reise ohne Rückkehr”. He was awarded Best Short Documentary Film and was nominated for Best Documentary Short at the “Indie Short Fest” of the Los Angeles International Film Festival. He was also a finalist for Best Human Rights Film at the Vancouver Independent Film Festival in Canada. He holds honorary membership at the Swiss German PEN Center and is a member of the Arab-European Forum for Cinema and Theater. Founder of fantime.net for cultural development.–1

Firas Shamsan is a Yemeni media professional and filmmaker, focusing on peace culture as a social media content producer. He is a board member of the French-speaking PEN Center in Switzerland and a delegate at PEN International’s Writers in Prison Committee. He co-authored “Berührung hat Gedächtnis Begegnung mit Lyrik aus dem Jemen” with Ilham Manea and Swiss artist Dr. Esther Herschi.
